John Rutter and Bob Chilcott are among the best-known and best-loved of current choral composers, creating both original works and arrangements that choirs enjoy singing. Rutter is familiar to us through many wonderful Christmas carols, but also for serious works and for folk-song settings. Chilcott came from a background with the famous Kings Singers, and offers an exciting and varied collection of choral settings - especially, in this concert, the "Little Jazz Mass"
Richmond Chorus is delighted to be joined in this concert by the choir from Steveston-London Secondary School, under the direction of Michael Mikulin. They will offer their own set of repertoire, as well as joining us in the title song, "The Music's Always There With You", and Rutter's energetic setting of "Down By the Riverside".
