About the Concert
Bernard Blary, Flautist
Our spring concert features the Richmond Orchestra with flautist, Bernard Blary performing Jacques Ibert's Flute Concerto (1934) - a work full of brilliantly ornate passages and lively movement yet sweet and gentle in character. Drawn from the music of Georges Bizet's 1875 opera Carmen, we perform the lasting melodies and graceful elegance of orchestral music from the Carmen Suites. Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 1 in C major, Op. 21 completes this evening of beautifully orchestrated music.
