Ceremony of Carols: Poster Signup and Facebook Page

Dear members,

Our Facebook page for Ceremony of Carols, was just published this morning.  Here is the link to the event page:  https://www.facebook.com/events/1555233981157109/?notif_t=plan_user_associated&notif_id=1478189335684297

As we are still looking for advertisers for this concert, we would please ask that you invite your friends to the event so that we can reach at least 200 invites.  As we mentioned at the AGM, it is important to show social media engagement throughout the season.

Note that there is now a Poster Distribution page in the Members' area.  The posters for Ceremony of Carols are printed and ready for distribution, so if you would like to help distribute posters please sign up.

Here are the digital files:

Social Media Tutorials

In an effort to keep the cost of marketing low, we are moving towards digital marketing and away from print.  A page in the Members' Zone has been created with tutorials on how to forward our e-newsletters through email as well as share our events and invite your friends through Facebook.

Please take a look and please share or invite your friends to our first concert, Russian Romantics on October 29, 2016 - the Facebook event page could use a little social media help: https://www.facebook.com/events/1653817431596334/

Thank you!

Have fun! Get fit! Fund raise for ROCA!

Something a little different!

For many years Scotia Bank has sponsored the Scotiabank Charity Challenge, a half marathon and 5 km walk for a selection of charities.

Non-profit organizations such as ROCA can apply to be a registered charity. If successful, members and non-members of ROCA can register to participate in either the marathon or walk and designate all money raised to go to ROCA.  Here's the link: http://www.canadarunningseries.com/svhm/svhmCHARITY.htm#Raise

It's so easy!!  All you have to do is register and you will be directed to an online fundraising program, which will direct you on how to set up your own personal fundraising page.  You will need to send out solicitation emails to EVERYBODY you know, but after that everything is taken care of by the program. Family members and friends can also participate with you to support you and ROCA. Every penny raised goes to the selected charity.

Before ROCA tries to register as a charity we need to know if you would be interested in participating in this event.  This year it will be on Sunday, June 25th.

On Tuesday, there will be sign up sheets at each rehearsal. You will NOT be committing yourself, but if you think this is something you would seriously consider participating in please add your name to the sheet. This will give us an indication of whether or not to go ahead with our application to become a designated charity.
